Session 7 — The Sheriff
Area: the Beachhouse, the forest, a second village
Details pending. Global layout only; the account below is to be filled in.
Context
Three players at the table: Nessa, Liora, and Percival. Gia and Onyx are not in this session.
The party starts at the Beachhouse.
The Forest
A card draws them into the forest. Which card is unrecorded — see cards/.
In the forest they find a mysterious man. He does not remember what he was doing there.
There are eyes in the forest this session — recorded separately as probably the Watcher (see deities/the-watcher/the-watcher.md). Where in the session they appear, and what they did, is pending.
The Sheriff
The party helps the man get home, to another village. He turns out to be that village's Sheriff.
The Village
In the village they meet Astor the Controlling, and 3 marks are given. Who gives them, who receives them, and what a mark is, is pending — the marking on the door in session 2 may or may not be the same thing.
The Scene Nobody Remembers
A whole scene happens here, and the players themselves do not remember it — the forgetting is the work of Astor the Controlling.
Details pending — what the scene was, whether the characters lost it as well as the players, and whether anything was left behind that could recover it.
The Tavern
They meet him in a tavern. He tells the party — Nessa, Liora, and Percival — about the deities and about a greater evil, a sickness. The party was already aware of the sickness; this was not the first they had heard of it.
Details pending — what he actually said about the deities, and what he said about the sickness that they did not already know. See quests/the-sickness.md.
Open
- Who "he" is in the tavern — most likely Astor the Controlling, given he is named as the cause of the forgetting and is met in the village. It could also be the Sheriff. Unconfirmed; confirm before this is treated as canon.
- The 3 marks: given by whom, to whom, and what they do.
- Which card drew them into the forest.
- What the mysterious man had been doing in the forest, which he had forgotten. Whether his forgetting and the party's forgetting have the same cause.
- Where the eyes in the forest fit into the sequence, and what they did.
- What the party already knew about the sickness, and from when.
